Privacy statement
Letter Weave is a single-player word puzzle. We don't run a backend, we don't track you, and we don't sell anything about you. This page explains the small amount of data the app touches, and where it lives.
1. What stays on your device
The vast majority of Letter Weave's data is stored locally on your device only:
- Your in-progress weave (placed letters, hints used, elapsed time)
- Your solve history — which daily weaves you completed and when
- Your current and longest streak
- App preferences — theme, daily-reminder time, haptics, reduce-motion, high-contrast, tutorial completion
- Your purchase status (cached locally so the app can verify your unlock offline)
This data is written to your device's protected app container. We never see it.
2. iCloud sync
Letter Weave mirrors your daily completion history and progress to your own iCloud account via Apple's key-value store (boundary letterweave.progress.v1), so you can pick up where you left off on another device signed in to the same Apple ID.
This sync is between you and Apple. Red Games has no access to it. You can disable iCloud for Letter Weave at any time from Settings → Apple ID → iCloud on your device.
3. Game Center
Leaderboards in Letter Weave are powered by Apple Game Center. When you solve a daily weave and you're signed in to Game Center, your solve time and your Game Center display name are submitted to that month's leaderboard.
Game Center is operated by Apple. Letter Weave does not see anyone else's leaderboard data beyond what Game Center returns to draw the boards. To opt out, sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings — Letter Weave will quietly stop submitting scores.
4. Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, Letter Weave schedules a local notification on your device. No notification token, server, or push mechanism is used — the reminder fires from inside your phone. You can disable it any time in Letter Weave → More, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Letter Weave.
5. Purchases
The Full Archive unlock is processed by Apple's StoreKit. Apple receives the transaction; Red Games receives an opaque entitlement signal. We do not see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID email.
6. Analytics, tracking, advertising
None. Letter Weave has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting, and no IDFA usage. The app makes no outbound network calls outside the Apple-operated services listed above (iCloud, Game Center, App Store).
7. Children's privacy
Letter Weave is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The App Store age rating reflects the puzzle's content, not data collection.
8. Your rights
Because Letter Weave does not collect or store personal data on Red Games' servers, there is no off-device record of you to correct, export, or delete. To wipe what Letter Weave stores on your device, delete the app. To wipe the iCloud-synced copy, sign out of iCloud or remove the app's iCloud data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
9. Changes to this statement
If we materially change how Letter Weave handles data, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and call out the change in the App Store release notes.
